Fabric 2020
In 2020, the festival faced the global pandemic of Covid-19. Fabric organized a 2-day artistic program in the city of Fall River presenting a series of projected
concerts by Fado Bicha, Lavoisier, Gaspar Varela, Rafael Carvalho and
Ricardo Rocha; a program of performative walks designed by contextual
artist Gustavo Ciríaco and led by several local guides; an exclusive home-recorded
concert by local musician Chase Ceglie; Viva Fall River! Pasteups
by Portuguese duo Halfstudio; a giant Waterfall projection on the
building of The Government City Center by artist Tracy Barbosa and a Group
Exhibition at the new Fall River Museum of Contemporary Art, founded
by city artists Harry Gould Harvey & Brittni Ann Harvey and showcasing
the work of more than 15 Fall River related artists. Additionally, the festival
presented an online program with concerts and recorded concerts made
available on its website and social media platforms.

in Fall River on October 16 & 17. A collection of 5 live sessions,
recorded initially in Lisbon and the Azores, presented the
musicians of this year’s focus, “Fados, Fairies and Violas.”, with the support of FLAD and the Government of the Azores. Additionally, we shared a series of 2 talks with artists from the festival, leading cultural figures of the city who are undertaking cultural projects shaping Fall River, and a personality who has been vital in bridging The United States and Portugal. The videos were launched online weekly from October 23 to November 27 at www. fabricfallriver.com and Fabric’s social media channels.
