Fabric Arts Festival 2025 is a multidisciplinary program that brings together contemporary art, music, and community engagement across Fall River and Providence. The festival departs from the idea that identities and cultures are shaped through movement — of people, traditions, and imaginaries. Rooted in a region marked by diasporic histories and ongoing transformation, Fabric weaves together artistic practices and shared experiences to foster new forms of relation and encounter.

In its 6th edition, Fabric presents communal dinners commissioned to artists, performances, concerts, exhibitions, and talks, taking place across multiple venues—from urban and cultural spaces to natural landscapes. The program is co-curated with regional partners and shaped by collaborative processes that unfold over time.

Fabric is a platform for dialogue and collective making. It invites audiences to gather, share, and be in relation across geographies, disciplines, and communities.

Welcome to Fabric 2025.

Calafonas: Tasting the Archipelago (working title)
with Project Calafonas - Henrique Ferreira & Diogo Lima with chef Hugo Ferreira
10 Oct / 7 PM
The Cultural Center
In this dinner-performance, Project Calafonas invites the audience to listen, taste, and remember. The event expands on their ongoing research into the soundscapes of the Portuguese-Azorean diaspora in North America, specifically the disco and pop aesthetics of the 1970s and 80s. DJ Milhafre (Henrique Ferreira) will guide a listening party blending archival tracks with contemporary interpretations. The menu, created by Azorean chef Hugo Ferreira (o Calheta), will be executed in collaboration with Mitch Mauricio, a chef and recurrent partner of the festival. Together, they evoke culinary memories of nights gone by—a festive and reflective gathering where food, sound, and memory become tools to reimagine cultural heritage.

Tickets will be available in September.
Fabric x Stay Silent x Branko
with Branko
11 Oct / TBA
Crib
Fabric teams up with Stay Silent for a night of music, dance, and celebration at CRIB, their venue dedicated to global sounds and local communities. Headlining the night is Branko, one of Portugal’s most influential producers and the founder of Enchufada. His DJ sets fuse electronic music with rhythms from across the Portuguese-speaking world, channeling the energy of Lisbon’s club scene while drawing connections to diasporic sounds around the globe.

This transatlantic gathering builds on Fabric’s ongoing dialogue between Fall River, Providence, and Lisbon, bringing together artists and audiences across geographies.

Additional special guests will be announced soon.
